Houses of Dorne
After centuries of blood & fire, the Princes of Dorne joined the Seven Kingdoms, not in conquest but matrimony. Integration is a tricky process. Some westerosi resent the dornish lords for the many privileges they received upon King Daeron's union. Some dornish lords resented the resentment, the envy. Or perhaps they just clung to the centuries of war. Whichever it was, the lords of the broken arm are split, between duty & desire, between the prosperity awarded for integration & the fierce resistance against this new path. Finding a middle path is a challenge none envy.
Dorne
Sands of Dorne
The conflicts & balances of Dorne are older than the integration of the broken arm. There were always those who grew rich on carrying the bounty of the Summer Sea north & those who insisted the Andal lords come to Sunspear if they'd like to try a Dornish Red. But with the union of House Targaryen to House Martell, those issues became official. Now there was a standard to unite around, a decision to oppose. The early Vulture King's were outlaws, stealing from Skyreach as much as Nightsong but would future ones be heroes, heralded with the Martell words?
In truth, no dornish lord craves devastation, they seek to climb. If the path to elevation lies in parting from the northern kingdoms, so be it. They're lords, not princes, they care for smaller goals, shorter visions.
But the opposite is also true: in the sands of Dorne, lies its greatest strength. The peninsula resembles the frozen north more than it does any other kingdom. The choice to leave or stay is only possible through Dorne's impregnability. That however, requires unity. If the lords of Dorne split, if some waste their strength on meaningless skirmishes, leaving their cogs idle as they march toward an unimportant foe & if others scatter their strength to the wind, adapting westerosi apathy in the face of adversity, then Dorne will surely bow, bend & break as well.
This is the "Arch of Dorne" -It displays extreme positions for your vassals to take.
The left bottom represents extreme isolation & the warpath toward the other kingdoms of the realm.
- It can lead to great instability as schemes & upheaval is sure to follow these houses.
The right bottom represents extreme adaptation, great exploitation of the dornish privileges in trade & diplomacy, adaptation of westerosi customs & ideals, slow assimilation.
- These houses may lose their edge & become prosperous but useless as they fight & politick like westerosi.

Besides the diplomacy you chose to hold, events including matches, disputes and most likely grants & taxes will appear as petitions from minor houses.
The personal loyalties the members of each house hold toward the Lord Paramount are a factor in deciding the severity of events, but not their position on the range.
House Martell takes advantage of the ideal combination of either side. So as minor houses stray downwards in any direction, they distance their decisions from yours. Clustered at the top, the kingdom remains more unified.
House Dayne

Achievements of House Martell & the Legacy of Dorne
Dorne was held for centuries by an unrelenting, uncompromising people and it still is. When the Princes & Princesses of Sunspear joined the royal court, they did so out of a belief that they could gain everything & lose nothing, uniting with the House of the Dragon under their terms alone.
But many dornish lords did not see the vision of Sunspear. Many divided, into complacent northern lordlings & misguided revolutionaries. Uniting Dorne will be an exercise in showing these lords the path forward, to a Dorne that prospers in the King's Peace without taking it for granted. A Dorne that stands, clearly, unmistakably, above all other kingdoms in its status & its independence.
When united, the dornish lords can strengthen the roots of Dorne while reaping the gifts of the crown.

Achievements are semi-permanent accomplishments that build atop each other to create your legacy. They remain until torn down.
They may be buildings, but are also often reforms, laws, alliances, matches, or even patronage and people.
Achievements will become available here as you interact with you bannermen and region at large.
With each achievement, a path to the next will reveal itself, tailoring the progress to your vision of your kingdom.

House Nymeros-Martell of Sunspear
The princes & princesses of Dorne watch the Old Palace as the riches of the Summer Sea, the gifts of the Rhoyne, of Volantis & further trickle into Sunspear & the Shadow City beneath it. Through centuries of war & of resistance, House Martell has created for itself the most valuable gift of all: an advantageous negotiating position. In all things, be it in conflict or peace, commerce or politics, Sunspear desires much & needs not.
With the riches of the south, a whole kingdom of vipers & scorpions between Sunspear & the Red Mountains, a truly remarkable fighting force, able to vanish within the red dunes & sailors hardened on voyages past old Valyria, the princedom is never in a bind to rush toward any action, unless it has placed itself there.

Many rumours surround the tutor that accompanied Maron Martell to King's Landing. His uncertain ancestry and fascination with all things strange and foreign have won him few friends. Despite that, the young prince looks up to him like an uncle and will hear no word said against him.
Though born a Targaryen, Daenerys has become a Dornish princess in nearly every way. Having lived through the Blackfyre rebellions as little more than a pawn, she knows the cost of peace and prosperity. If she must sully her own hands to keep those of her son clean in defence of his dreams, she will do so.
Born from the union of houses Targaryen and Martell, the “Summer Prince” of Dorne has lived and ruled in near-constant prosperity. He styles himself after the likes of Prince Maron Martell and King Daeron the Good, believing it to be his sacred duty to steward their legacy of peaceful unification. The recent death of his wife in childbirth has marred his ever-good spirits, but not shaken his principles.

The youngest sister of Prince Arron of Dorne, only a few years older than his son and heir. More than one suitor has been chased away by her rigorous personal discipline and unsmiling disposition, saying she would be better suited as a maester or septa than a wife. She is not inclined to disagree.
As the only illegitimate daughter of the “Summer Prince”, Teora soon learned that even in Dorne, the name Sand does not carry the same weight as Martell. It was through her own skill and cunning that she would have to distinguish herself. She has set her eyes on the Stepstones as her proving ground, and secured enough resources from her indulgent father to try and make her dream of becoming a new Nymeria reality.

Lotar Qorano is a victim of his own success. Reaching old age as a part-mercenary part-pirate may be a rare achievement, but it left him with just as many enemies as friends in the Free Cities. So, he offered his considerable experience to the Prince of Dorne, and was taken on as a tutor to his brash bastard daughter. To his own surprise, he has grown close with Teora, seeing her almost as his own daughter. He is not happy about leaving his retirement, but cares for her enough to want to keep an eye on her during her ill-advised adventures on the stepstones.
Disinherited by a vicious coup while escorting merchants through Westeros, the former princess to a lost island kingdom takes up a position in the Martell Household, to serve Dorne & gain an allies to win back her throne one day.

House Yronwood of Yronwood
The fair Wardens of the Stoneway & Bloodroyals of Yronwood have strayed far from their Marcher ways, now seeking positions & titles by the Dragon's side. They rule over some of the most prosperous coastal lands by the Sea of Dorne & have encouraged some trade along the Stoneway as well. So they leverage their wealth to rise, not only in Dorne, but in the realm.

Lady Yronwood is a proud & ambitious woman of much esteem amongst the dornish lords, able to shore up support from the many houses she has gifted brides to. Her son however is a known man of passion, traveling the realm in a long trail of bastards as he searches for a suitable match.

Lord Wyl has ranged north more often than any knight in his retinue. A lifetime has awarded him much.
